Same thing i am trying to tell to the Pakistan fans that they should not feel heart broken by this loss. They should see that they had almost zero percent chance to reach the semi finals. It was a miracle performance by the Netherlands against South Africa and all of a sudden they found themselves in the semi finals.
I understand that they will think that they were only one win away from lifting the trophy but they should know that the other team had a much better journey to the finals and they truly deserve this win.
It was mixed performance from the Pakistan team. Before the tournament started, Pakistan was one of the favorites to win the world cup. They had a terrific triangular series in New Zealand, where they whitewashed not just the hosts, but Bangladesh as well. But then they lost the match against India in the Super-12 stage. The lowest point was when they lost a close match against Zimbabwe. In the initial stages, both Babar Azam and Rizwan failed to get runs, and it really impacted the overall team performance.
Before the T20 World Cup, Pakistan was performing very well. Their excellent performances in several series started the dream of winning the World Cup. But their cricket often faltered. Many used to say that Top Oder dependable team. They also had to lose against teams like Zimbabwe in the World Cup. As a result, the trust in them gradually decreases. However, they could not recover from that weakness even if they got a chance to play in the final.
