This season's Europa League smells like the Champions League, a surprise occurs when there are more big clubs in the Europa League than imagined. What caught the attention of football fans the most in the Europa League was the game Barcelona vs Manchester United. These two clubs competed more frequently in the UCL in previous seasons, due to their inconsistent performance which forced the two of them to fight on the ECL stage.
Just like Jose Mourinho said some months ago: "the failed sharks of the Champions League will arrive, and they will come in hard", there are many big teams that have failed in the champions league this season, and apart from those who failed completely out of Europe, the rest of them will be going to the Europa League, this is going to make the Europa League more interesting, but never comparable to the Champions league, the Europa League will always can never be elite, no matter how many big teams failed from the Champions League and fell to the Europa League. Barcelona v United is a big game, even in the Europa League, but not as big as it would have been if it was in the Champions League, so it is not so big in this occasion.
