I think after the World Cup the fans will have a big decline in interest in the secondary tournaments. It's one thing to watch the Europa League under normal conditions (after all, there are interesting confrontations) and another thing, having had enough of the super-important World Cup games, to return to the Europa League games. I think such sentiments will touch some players/coaches as well.
I don't know about that. To be honest for me the national teams and the national cups like European Championship and the World Cup have never been of the biggest interest for me. I just enjoy club football way more than national teams. I also think that the quality of the football games is way higher in the Champions League and Europa League then in the world cup for example.
Especially in the world cup there are some teams that are taking part that are at least 1 or 2 tiers below the best ones like Saudi Arabia and Qatar for example. Overall for me the world cup is not really the highlight of this football year. I will watch it though because obviously that this the only football that is going on during that time.
I understand what you mean. And I also value club football more than the games of the national teams, the importance of which is decreasing every year for various reasons. As for the difference in class, in fact, in the Champions League the situation is the same - there are top clubs there, but also Dynamo, Victoria, Maccabi, Copenhagen, etc.
In the end, even you will still watch the World Cup and I think after the final game it will be more difficult for you to return to ordinary games of the national championships.
