Ball possession was nothing for me. Goal meant everything. I think that any team must not need to put the ball possession as something that must be done. The team needs to learn about how to win by creating so many goals and it's not about how big ball possession that already acquired. Ball possession meant nothing if you are not even making a goal while your opponent has perfect execution to make so many goals. I think that any team must think about how to win the match.
I didn't like a team that played a lot in the ball possession but it will be losing caused by it was not making any goal.
Exactly. Yesterday Argentina had the maximum ball possession, but they failed to convert that to goals. And in the end, the outcome will be decided by the number of goals scored by each teams and not by the % possession. To their credit, Saudi Arabian defense was like a iron wall. Argentines were repeatedly frustrated by the strong showing from Saudi Arabian defenders. The big lesson from yesterday's match between KSA and Argentina is not to under-estimate any of your opponents, no matter how poorly they performed in the previous editions.
That's why making goal is much more important than only getting big percentage of ball posession. As far as i know if any team who have been loosing against underrated team has always good ball possession but these big team like argentina and german have very bad result in the execution at the end of chance. The way of japan was defending its goal from german was so hard. Japan deserves the win against german. Luck can also plays a lot in this case. I do like how MBS was reacting about the win of KSA against argentina as whole of players in KSA got roll royce phantom as bonuses.
