I met an old friend who we separated for about 4 years because I relocated to a very distant place. We sat and discussed for hours and I discovered that he is a professional gambler. I mean he has nothing else doing apart from gambling and yet he is leaving well and comfortable.
At the course of our discussion he told me everything he planned to achieve this 2022 with gambling money. And to my greatest surprise he has already achieved more than 80% of his plans.
I was surprised how someone will plan with money he is not sure of.
Let's discuss, does anyone here plan with gambling money yet to be won?
Just because it has worked well for your friend doesn't mean it will work for you. If this was done with a different venture it may, but this is gambling we're talking about. You're friend could be highly skilled in a particular type of play or game and had abused that strategy for years on end. Besides that, I don't think it is logical to already plan stuff or include profits that weren't even in your hand yet to your budget. Unless it is a paycheck you are talking about. Things could go awry in a blink of an eye, and you may lose this prospective profit whether you got it from gambling or not, so it's always better to only plan your budget or your expenditure with money that is already on-hand, otherwise make do of what's available or find a way to increase your profits.
What your friend is doing is highly irresponsible and could affect him psychologically if the betting did not go his way. The chance of winning betting is lower than the chance of losing it, so it's difficult for me to apprehend what your friend is doing unless he has a cheating code that is really working. If not, his action amounts to living in the future when he has not gotten there.
It is wise to plan with what we have, not what we expect, and to answer your question, I don't do that, and I will not be fooling myself on an invisible money.
I highly agree, but then again if it has worked for the friend for quite sometime, surely there's something that he's doing that a lot of gamblers nowadays aren't. Whatever that is, has set him apart from the losers in the industry. And as you said, I do think he has a cheat code, or a strategy he plays to ensure maximum profits.
