As ridiculous as it may sound, this is exactly what is happening. We want to get a lot out of the money we're aiming for, which we're not even sure will be available in the future. This is not limited to gambling, but a gambler will think like this more because his expectations will always be optimistic in the context of winning a game. Your friend is a true gambler if he places so much hope in gambling and fulfilling so many of his life goals. He needs to start a business so that he can tip people on prospective games to win when they play one.
Planning on the money we never won is a big problem in gambling especially when we are very optimistic that we are going to have a winning. I have had several predictions win high expectations that I am going to make a winning but at the end nothing happens. This is a big challenge that keep happening most time we have a big expectations about the game we plays because we could be very certain that we are going to win the game but end up have a bad luck.

I always reduce my expectations when I gamble most time because in order to reduce high blood pressure, I don't put my mind on such games because having a loses can make me weak and affect my next interest to gamble.
True. Having high expectation when we gamble can lead to depression and stress especially if the money you use is something that you can't afford to lose. It's also one of the reason why some gamblers are becoming addicted since they're chasing what they lost. Well, it's not bad to look forward for your possible winnings, but planning ahead or expecting it to happen for real is not a good idea. So it still best to play without any expectation, play for fun because if you gamble and win unexpectedly, that's more satisfying. Gambling is not a reliable source to earn money, it doesn't guarantee profit thus keep this in mind before you gamble.
