When Argentina lost to Saudi Arabia I thought they would not make the top 16. But I was wrong.
After Argentina's first match against Saudi Arabia, I kept hoping for them because I knew they had the team to beat the other teams in the group, so when they beat Mexico and Poland, I wasn't surprised because I knew Messi and his teammates would not play with their qualification to the next round of the competition.
Argentina not only managed to find their game, but also showed us some beautiful football. Scaloni's team rehabilitated after the defeat in the first match and went into the play-offs in first place, while Poland beat Mexico on goal difference. I was betting on Mexico making the play-offs, but I was wrong, my bet didn't pay off.
I was concerned about Saudi Arabia after their hype of defeating Argentina in the first group stage match, and they end up at the bottom of the group table with only three points from the first match.
Mexico, on the other hand, tried their hardest to get three points from Saudi Arabia, but the goal difference gave Poland an advantage even after losing to Argentina in the last group-stage stage match. This is particularly painful because Mexico could have qualified if they had scored more goals against Saudi Arabia yesterday.
At least, Saudi Arabia have tried their best in this world cup. beating Argentina, is a great achievement for the Arab national team. although in the end, they had to be eliminated without being able to advance to the next round. I think the coaches and players realized that before the world cup was held, but they still participated and enlivened this tournament and worked as hard as possible.
I don't think we need to be concerned about their national team, just giving the highest possible appreciation is enough for their struggle. Likewise with Mexico, their failure to qualify for the next round, we still have to respect.
