Litecoin (LTC) is a cryptocurrency based on the core principles and software of Bitcoin. Litecoin is often predicted to be a digital server.
The main difference between Litecoin and Bitcoin:
Blocks are created much faster (2.5 minutes).
To generate the key, a function (scrypt) is used for primary hashing during mining.
Litecoin was released in October 2011. The creator of Litecoin is former Google employee Charlie Lee. He took the bitcoin code as a basis, creating a cryptocurrency that takes 2.5 minutes to generate a block - this is 4 times faster than bitcoin. Litecoin addresses start with the letter "L" in connection with the version number, then the generation takes place in the same way as bitcoin addresses.
