The majority of US houses, including "luxury" homes around here are made largely with oriented strand board (OSB), which is made by gluing together peeled wood products.
It's a middle of three piggies houses (sticks).
i am not a specialist in housing construction, but it doesn't seem very luxurious or long lasting.
Most homes are 2x4 with plywood or osb board.
Some are 2x6 with plywood and foam insulation= a far better home.
the foam makes the home super insulated and way stronger. Cost is more but not crazy more.
A 700000 house would be 720000. The extra 20k would easily be made up in 10 years times as both heating and cooling would be cheaper.
Should be code. But it isnt.
