Gambling knows no gender. Just as may soccer fans will sit and listen to a female pundit analyze a game and even banter with her where possible, so it is with female punters. As long as they are as good and make money, nobody really cares. It is as simple as that. One time I player Poker with a group of female college students and they beat me hands down and won my money. I was so pained but it is what it is. They game is no respecter of genders.
That may be because there has been gender equality in the country or place, so women may have gotten used to playing gambling in public. But in certain countries, they will not dare to play gambling even in public places because it is taboo.
