Portugal played really well against Switzerland. Their team had great pace of play. It didn't seem that Cristiano Ronaldo, one of the best players in the world, was in the Portugal team. Cristiano Ronaldo is now unable to play a role for the team as his age has curtailed his performance.
Portugal is building a 'new team', they must build a team without Ronaldo. Yes, he is a legend, it is his 5th Cup - and that's all. Team must see there is a future without him. And his "replacement" did really well.
And Ronaldo now is angry/rancorous - he did not come to Wednesday's training.
I think the news about Ronaldo is a bit exaggerated in the media at the moment because indeed this is a little bit proven with some news saying that Ronaldo left first during his team's celebration of qualifying for the next round but in real footage that he went to their fans in the stands and been there for some time.
Now there's more about him being mad about not coming to practice, is he really being labeled negatively all the time?
