Elite? Who is that then? Putin? Because he is the one to blame for invasion and preventing grain production/shipments. And we in EU need to pay more for energy because were totally not prepared for this when russia cut us off. Now we will probably have some blackouts in the winter to remind of that. You really haven't thought about this trough. This war is bad for everyone and there will most likely come caps with electricity bills as well so how is that benefiting energy companies? And who benefits when citizens have no buying power exactly?

All this chaos is just from russian playbook of having war against everyone, creating chaos in EU benefits them and they have been doing it for so long
