To be honest nobody expected Japan to beat Spain and Germany neither, nor expected their game to go to penalties against Croatia, nor Saudi Arabia to beat Argentina, and a few others I am probably forgetting about. This tournament has been filled with unexpected games and we shouldn't really be shocked for another one. This one wasn't even that shocking, everyone assumed Portugal would win, they just didn't know they would win with 6 goals, the only shocking part was the goal count, to the win so that is even easier to guess than the other games because winner is at least expected team.
