The pitch of the first match was completely flat. The bowlers couldn't do any favors. So England's batsmen were able to score a lot of runs very easily. I wouldn't say today's pitch is bowling friendly. Ajek's pitch is also quite batting-friendly. But England's batsmen should have batted a bit more carefully and settled down at the crease. None of England's batsmen could stay at the crease for long. And so they lost all the wickets in 52 overs.
My prediction was that England would collect 280 runs. But they lost all wickets for 281 runs. Mark Wood was unbeaten on 36 runs. Pakistani batsmen have just started their innings. I think they will not make the same mistakes as the England batsmen.
I would say Pakistani batsmen are not doing good in first innings, as they have lost both openers for just 50 runs. If they keep losing wickets like that then they will end up giving England a good lead in first innings. Pakistan is trailing by 228 runs and 8 wikcets left.
