It was really another big disappointment for England supporters. After 56 years they were closing in on the title slowly here. But they couldn't get past the France obstacle. England could have prevented the game from ending in 90 minutes as well. However the penalty Kane missed cost them this. I wish Rashford used that last chance free-kick more effectively like a passing organization.
I was expecting that kind of an organization actually after seeing how it worked against Argentina by Netherlands before. But he decided to take that huge responsibility and failed. His shot wasn't bad maybe but here we are.
England did everything they could to defend themselves, with 90 minutes to defend and trying to put pressure on France was not easy and this proved they only lost to the side of luck which was not on England's side even though possession of the ball on the field was more better english than french.
Well, I wouldn't say that England played to the best of their ability. Yes England tried, it was evident, but still the French team scored from the game, and England penalties. Of course you can blame Kane for not scoring the second penalty, but if he did, everything could have gone differently, and it's generally true, but still to win such a team the French need to score from the game.
It's also strange that Grealish didn't come out in the second half, he's quite a creative player, maybe he could bring some constructiveness to the game of England, and so France played comfortably enough, leaving the forces for the game with Morocco.
Although Morocco may have another surprise for France.
But so far the French team seems to be the clear favorite in this pairing and the final of Argentina-France looks more and more realistic.
