Hey there! I finally have an answer for you. You correctly observed that on the link you provided there are 38 50 BTC donators. However, as I previously said, our reference (meaning xtraelv's historic topic was showing 41.

After checking both lists, the difference of 3 users was consisting on MagicalTux (which is Mark Karpeles, ex-CEO of Mt. Gox), Mt.Gox Support (probably his alt account) and Hal. After some deep investigation I found out that theymos said himself that he offered free VIP status to Karpeles, as this guy offered hosting for the forum a while ago. Most likely, at same time, he also offered free VIP status to Karpeles' secondary account - Mt.Gox Support (for same reason). Last, but not least, Hal received free VIP status for all his contributions.

As a consequence, xtraelv was wrong. This is because he checked for users which had (at the moment of writing the topic) VIP status on their profile. However, as you see, this did not mean that all paid 50 BTC to the forum.
