Last night I watched in disbelief that Croatia would lose easily against Argentina, an absolute victory for Argentina since the first round match and it was very difficult to pursue because the ball possession was completely controlled by the Argentinian players. Argentina against France is everyone's dream final, while Argentina against Morocco is a new final for everyone. Apart from all that, I hope Argentina can win the world cup this time and of course as a good career ending for Lionel Messi.
Yeah, it's surprising that Croatia was able to defeat Brazil but couldn't beat Argentina. Anyway, if we compare the remaining teams, France seems to be the favorite, and I think they have a good chance of winning this World Cup. At the same time, France shouldn't underestimate its upcoming opponent because Moroccan players have already proven that they can beat such strong teams as Spain and Portugal.
If you follow Croatia more closely, you wouldn't be that surprised. I'm Croatian so I always follow our national team matches. The problem with Croatian national team is that they tend to fall apart in situations like yesterday's penalty and especially after the second goal. After that goal it was pretty much all over for Croatia. They tried attacking more in the beginning of the second half but that only opened them to Argentina's counter attacks which resulted in the third goal. Luckily there weren't more goals scored by Argentina because that would make very hard for a Croatian team to rise up for the bronze medal match.
I think that Morocco is more dangerous for France than Croatia was for Argentina. They play super defensive football. It's not easy to attack against a team that is concentrated only on defense. However, one goal in Morocco's net should be enough reason for them to open up and then I guess we will watch an interesting match.
