LOL.. when I first saw this thread, not even in my wildest dreams I imagined that it will stay alive up to the very end of the competition. To be fair, I wasn't expecting any of the African teams to progress from the group stage. And now we have Morocco who will play tomorrow against Croatia for the 3rd place. And it is going to benefit them financially as well. If they end up with the 3rd price, they will receive $27 million. Even in case they lose, there is no need to get disappointed. The fourth placed team will be getting $25 million from the FIFA.
After this tournament, no one will dare to underestimate any African nation again. I had hoped that Africans would fare well in this competition, but I had no idea it would be the Moroccan team rather the Senegalese team, the current African champions. Based on Moroccans performance in this World Cup, I expect them to compete for the AFCON trophy next year. They've made the entire African continent proud, and a third or fourth place today is well deserved.
