We can't be certain if theymos is controlling twitter account or not, but this would be the only way to keep account alive and prevent deletion.
Hall Finney wife Fran recently did the same thing with Hall's twitter account, making a post after years of inactivity, however I don't think that Bitcointalk twitter account ever posting something historically important.
