Absolutely. Donor hearts are a scarce resource. They wouldn't be offering one to yahoo if there was any doubt about him being too old/frail/unwell to make it through the op and the recovery process.

As I mentioned to yahoo privately, I obviously can't give out personal medical advice, but I'll be waiting a bit longer than a week before reaching any conclusions. Its fairly normal after a heart transplant to spend some days sedated in intensive care, and then several more after that before you will be in any state to care about this forum. And complications which can delay this, such as infection or further bleeding requiring a trip back to the OR, are often treatable and don't mean the worst has happened, just that it takes longer to get through it all. Focus on you first and your family second. We'll all find out when you're ready.
