If that goal had not been saved by Martinez, Argentina would never have achieved the dream of the World Cup in Qatar. Because France was ahead by 1 goal, while Martinez worked hard to save pelanty of goals. Due to which Golden Boot gets martinez.
Already pointed out by user YinShuiSiYuan that Emiliano Martínez got the golden glove and not the golden boot. The latter award went to Kylian Mbappé, and that too only because Argentina conceded two penalty kicks and Mbappé converted both of them to goals. Without these penalty kicks, Messi would have won the golden boot instead of Mbappé. What I was trying to say is that Argentina didn't gained anything from that tackle which resulted in the penalty kick. IMO, they would have rather conceded the goal to France (80th minute).
