Union Berlin and Freiburg are the most surprising team so far. One wouldn't think they will go that far in the Bundesliga. It has always been Bayern, Dortmund, and Leipzig.
Union Berlin is really a surprising team. I had thought they would be more in the midfield this year. Although they finished at place 5 last season. I thought that the triple burden would be too much. But they proved me wrong.
I saw Freiburg on the other hand exactly where they are right now. They have become more consistent in the last few years and now belong in the top 5.
I must admit that both Union Berlin and Freiburg have surprised me a lot this season because both teams have played incredible football so far in the season. Freiburg is currently ranked second in the league right behind Bayern Munich, and if they are able to win their next match, they will be only one point away from being the league's top team. It is my belief that they will be able to give Bayern fierce competition for the league title in the latter part of the season. The form of Borussia Dortmund this season has disappointed me a lot, as they are only in sixth place in the league right behind Union Berlin at the moment.
Even though Union Berlin and Freiburg haven't been able to put great pressure on Bayern Munich, they deserve appreciation for being one of the teams that have managed to play well in recent years. Their job now is to make them able to compete with Bayern Munich. It will be eagerly awaited by many people, that there is a team in the Bundesliga that will provide real competition for the current rulers of the Bundesliga, not only for Union Berlin and Freiburg, but this applies to any team. All would be very welcome if there is a team that can do what I say.
