The f2pool information suggests a cheaper option to start mining. I agree that a more powerful processor will contribute to a greater hashrate of mining farms, but the main thing is to find the ideal inexpensive equipment for a faster payback.
1. Obtain suitable hardware and software
Aleo can be efficiently mined with NVIDIA GPUs. For each GPU, you may get the following ready:
GPU: NVIDIA GPU with driver version 515 or above.
CPU: 8-core CPU
Memory: 8 GB
SSD storage: 128 GB
You need to get the Ubuntu 18.04-20.04 (version for servers, without GUI) operation system ready, and install this mining software.https://f2pool.io/mining/guides/how-to-mine-aleo/ I would disagree. The upside is huge if you have a competitive advantage (with a powerful setup).
As far as paybacks are concerned, it is pretty much the same everywhere; you receive credits on a daily basis which are later converted to coins (5:1) after the mainnet launch. Leasing out servers looks like a way better option, especially with such a low barrier to entry.
