There is no anomaly, since in secp256k1 all points (except the one at infinity) are equal. No point is more equal than others.

It seems as an easy way to check if your implementation is mostly correct - you try multiplying by 1/2, and then receive small x coordinate. Many things have to be implemented accurately, and any deviation would show up.
