I think your optimism is reasonable, but only if Manchester City drop more points and Arsenal always win. But I even believe the opposite more, Manchester City will return to lead the Premier League standings by taking advantage of Arsenal's mistakes in the next few matches.
City also haven't been their self this season. They also have lost a lot of points in easy fixtures this season so far so they can only close the gap if they don't give away points like they have in easy games in upcoming games. Today they have huge game against Chelsea, although Chelsea are struggling in this season but they are very much capable of surprising still. Possible that City might drop points today also.
