The majority of American adults believe that more than 150 years after the 13th Amendment ended slavery in the country, the legacy of slavery still affects how black people are treated in modern American culture. According to a recent Pew Research Center study, more than four out of ten respondents believe that racial equality has not been sufficiently advanced in the country. There is also some doubt that black people will ever enjoy equal rights with white people.
Racism would last forever. It would always be branded and rebranded to suit different societies and times. American Society would find it very difficult to eradicate racism because it has been institutionalized. The political, social, and economic sector of America doesn't favor blacks and other colored people. The police and judicial system has not been fair to the blacks which have led to a high rate of extrajudicial killings and racially influenced court judgement. Donald Trump's tenure as American President promoted racial discrimination to the extent that racists were openly celebrated by the government. African Americans also contribute to the racial discrimination they suffer. They must ensure they utilize educational and developmental opportunities, shun crime and be willing to contribute to the nation productively.
