I've had some time to sleep and think on this, now, and the more I think about it, I'm just left terrified about the implications this ordinal stuff has for Bitcoin.

I see it as a very real existential threat.

I sincerely hope I am dead wrong.

You need to explain more, beyond just "having a feeling"....

If you think that bad actors are going to go in and mark a bunch of satoshis and cause them to be less fungible than other satoshis, then what?  The unmarked ones will be more valuable, no? Won't it all work itself out, and yeah, maybe we ONLY end up with a way smaller number of bitcoin (satoshis).. instead of 2.1 Quadrillion satoshis, we ONLY have 50 Trillion fungible ones, so then what?  We can just figure out ways to recognize smaller units, no?   Recognizing smaller units does not affect the total supply of bitcoin even if some were lost along the way and merely because some people (even bad actors) ended up contaminating their satoshis with "ordinal stuff," right?

Look on the bright side; it means more bitcoin for philipma1957.

He "needs" them for sure.  Whether he "deserves" them might be another question, yet king daddy do not care anyhow.
