I don't even think leeds will sign gerard as a new coach. As far as I know that gerard has been linked to liverpool since rumor about FSG may possibly sack klopp already spread. Gerard never had good experience in managing the football club. He has also had horrible history with liverpool. Gerrard can get his first EPL trophy once manchester city's trophies will be stripped off. That proves that even he has a very bad history with liverpool.
He is not as good as people said in the past. If a coach was not able to make the performance from the small clubs to be even better and how can gerrard be called as a good manager? I prefer for leeds not rush to hire him as a new coach consider his bad experience with previous club.
This seems hard on Steven Gerrard but I think you placed your assumption on him on just his coaching career at Aston Villa. Although he has was later sacked he actually did quite well the first year he was signed. Aston Villa aside, Gerrard did extremely well in his time in the Scottish league with Rangers. He actually broke Celtic dominance there with a remarkable Scottish league triumph in which he almost went a season unbeaten.
Also you dont compare a players playing career days with his coaching career. Gerard might have failed to win the Premier League with Liverpool during his playing days but he certainly one of the club greatest player, if not the greatest in the competition. In fact Gerrard today is regarded as one the best premier league midfielders of his generation. It wouldnt be bad to have him coach Leeds because as it stands Leeds do not have the financial capability to hire an high profile manager
