In my opinion, bitcoin will become more and more popular, and governments will no longer want to ban bitcoin, instead, we will soon see them accept it to some extent and with a wide range of regulations. They realized that it was impossible to ban it and that it was not in their interest to ban it, not only did they not see its potential, but accepting it would bring them huge taxes.
I always think that in the future, both banking and bitcoin will support each other, one cannot replace the other, and both are important and used for different purposes.
The taxation benefits alone will make governments think twice before they ban Bitcoin in full. That's because they wouldn't want to miss a "piece of the pie". I'd expect restrictive countries like China and Russia to lift their "blanket ban" on Bitcoin sometime in the future. They just can't beat the real thing.
Even in places where Bitcoin is outlawed, people are using it as an alternative to Fiat. The power of decentralization and censorship-resistance, allows people to circumvent government measures against Bitcoin. The cryptocurrency lives across the Internet, so it would take more than just a "ban" to take down Bitcoin for good (which is almost impossible). It seems to me that CBDCs and Bitcoin will co-exist for generations. Just my thoughts
