Sunday's transfer gossip:
Liverpool may be willing to sell 'superstar' players, including Egypt forward Mohamed Salah, 30, this summer. Salah has almost become an icon and legend of the club all these years and it is somewhat unexpected that he will leave the club. Is it a good decision by the club?
Liverpool look to be on a downward slope already with their very bad performance this season, if their coach moves to Real Madrid and players like Salah and Nunez aho just joined leave as well, it will be a while before Liverpool will be Liverpool again, they will struggle for a while to adapt to the changes. If Klopp moves to Real Madrid, there is a likelihood that he will be able to lure and bring players he is used to like Salah to Real Madrid.
If he leaves to join Real Madrid, it will be a huge blow to the team. After assembling a strong team to this point, disassembling them now would be a huge loss for the team. We don't know if he'll accept the offer to join them, but if he does, leaving the team with those players will make it difficult for the team to continue strong as before, plus those players may face some new challenges at the new club, but since he'll be the new head coach, he'll find a way to fix them in even if he has to sell some existing players of the club after he joins them.
If Klopp goes to Real Madrid, I'm almost sure he'll bring Salah. Real Madrid is not a team to be rejected. They are one of the most valuable and respected teams in the history of world football. We may see Salah if Klopp leaves, but I don't think he will mind Nunez because Nunez fell short of expectations. Instead, they can make attempts to get Haaland. Of course, we are only talking about possibilities, in reality there is no such situation at the moment.
You think he is going to bring Salah? It could be, but I think that Real Madrid is also trying to rejuvenate their team even further. It would be a very last chance for Salah at this age and not to forget that he has a contract until 2025 as far as I know. That means Real Madrid would have to pay a high transfer fee for a player who is 31 by then and who will be asking a high salary as well. Don't forget that Madrid is still willing to sign Mbappe or Haaland. Salah wouldn't fit into that strategy very well.
Watching Liverpool these days is a bit weird because they are lacking all these basics that made them so strong. It's weird that a team can fall apart like that within just a single year. Just last season they scored 92 points and conceded 26 goals the entire season, which was the best defense along with Manchester City. Now after 20 games Liverpool already conceded 28 goals.
I expect the next season to become a seasons with several big changes in terms of managers but also in terms of big names changing their teams again. However, now that I am reading that Mbappe could be earning up to 630 million in three years, I have no clue how a club like Real Madrid would compete with that? I wonder how that is still in accordance with financial fair play?
