People who don't understand about Bitcoin are pointless talking about it, what they need is faith in Bitcoin.  If Bitcoin isn't accepted, it's hard to get people to trust it.  If the US government and other major powers simultaneously declare Bitcoin a better asset than gold, we're sure to see a rapid increase in public acceptance.  It is better to try to explain to people what is gained by investing in Bitcoin than to waste time explaining Bitcoin to people.
