Since openssl is a dependency, I suppose it already uses that. Furthermore, this isn't nullama's software. I'm pretty sure it was first released (and maintained - last commit in '21) by jr [1-2].

Who refused to pay for which code rights? How is this related to some Windows GUI pull request? Did you reference the wrong PR?
i just offered him this deal  so he can just use my code in his pr. yeah this gui trick. You can find their  attempt to implement it but it fails several times and they dropped it finally. looks like satoshi was the only windows programmer there. i'm talking about luke-jr
How is this relevant to the discussion? We were talking about improving CPU mining efficiency in bfgminer, not about fancy GUI tweaks.
Besides; I find it questionable to say the least, to ask for money from the maintainers of an open-source project. If you want to contribute, create a PR - for free; they coded the whole thing for free, as well. If you don't, don't.
