Eek, yo right, daddy  Shocked
Combating the flu messed with my brain, obviously.
Should have directed that to Hamza, sorry for sounding too rude.

nah all good.
I hope your got better with regards to the flu.

I had, among others, two very contrary insights regarding Islam, one through a moderate islamic family (afghani) and one through a fundamental family (syrian). Both were applying for asylum, the latter got evicted because of active involvment in extremism (a "sleeper"). I gave them occasional rides to the railway station, so they could get to the mosque every friday. On the second ride he gave me a copy of the Quran, translated to my native language. I was quite open at the beginning, but i stopped on page 9.
A few weeks later he asked me if i have read "the golden book", a few days later i recognized he was away. Later on, i was told he and his wife plus their two kids got sent back to Syria. Two worlds, one Islam.

That's exactly the point. That one ideology absolutely rules their culture, politics and law, even family and sex life. In short everything.
It doesn't allow any criticism, any change of its rules, or anyone to leave the system. It's a cult not compatible with democracy.

When push comes to shove between the free development of the individual and Islam, even most moderate Muslims will decide to follow Islam instead of being seen as an apostate ...for their and their families' well being.
That religious peer pressure is the reason why Afghans wouldn't even oppose the strict Taliban implementing Sharia law again, when the Western troops left.  Taliban means eager scholar (of Islam).
