It is hard to explain bitcoin to a regular person. Tell him in brief. If he is interested, he will do the research himself and get involved. In the journey, he will develop some doubts. But there are forums like bitcointalk which he will anyway discuss on searching queries related to crypto on Google. You can only show a direction to the person, you cannot hold his hand and make him invest in bitcoin.
Some people believe hand-holding other people into investing in BTC is the right thing to do, but it is not, it is not possible to force people to develop interest in BTC, if a person does not have an idea or interest in BTC, it is best for you not to force them to do so. Majority of us in bitcointalk all love BTC, but the truth is that we can't force it on others who have no interest in it. Even when there is mass adoption of BTC in the future, totally everyone cannot be involved in it, because there will surely be those who don't like it nor want to use it.

It isn't bad to give people an idea of what BTC is all about, and then give them some resources to go and find out more about BTC themselves, if they indeed come back with further questions on what they have learnt, then you can help them with more materials to help them learn fast, but if they are uninterested and do not come back, then they should be left alone.
