yeah different perspectives and intentions, your argument is true, if a gambler is just aiming to have some fun using their spare money they are just going to deposit and they will not mind about any deposit bonuses, while for those who are regular and heavy gamers they will take advantages of casino offers regarding to VIP's.
They will aim for that to achieve those additional perks that the house is offering and make a good use of it while using the house platform/services.
I am a regular gambler, my goal is really having fun and getting the excitement when placing (small) bets. I always look when a site offers a deposit bonus, but most of the times the requirements are pretty high and than I let it pass by. Their are some exceptions as they are sites that have a different system to unlock the bonus and than it becomes interesting.
If you play gambling for fun, you won't care much about the bonuses and will tend to deposit and gamble. Since we are talking about this in the betfury thread, it is a good site for fun.
Those whose aim is to get some free money for gambling, they will make use of bonuses and gambling sites rightly protect their interest by giving some tough wagering requirements so that these bonuses are not misused.
I agree, the site will do that to protect their business, even they are providing it as part of a welcome bonus, but the requirements for wagering huge amount should be complete before you can take it out from the site.
It would be depending to how a gambler will think about it and how they will maximize the use of this kind of bonus if they choose to activate or if they choose not, there's no problem as long as they are enjoying the game and they are trusting the platform.
