Before now Manchester United have been in a very poor state despite having the greatest player of all time present in the team but just few months after Ronaldo's departure to Saudi squad, Ten Hag has managed to turn things around and even going ahead to win the league cup, I know many people will begin to say Ronaldo was the problem in the team judging from what they have been able to achieve after his departure.
Their bad results before Ronaldo departure to Saudi league is not because of Ronaldo. They did not use him a lot in first half of season and it is unfair and dishonest if they told that all bad results are by Ronaldo bad contribution.
Ten Hag did not do his job well in early season but it is explainable as it is a first time he managed a club in Premier League. However so far we can say that Ten Hag has adapted well and has done good jobs for Manchester United. Let's hope that he will continue it in a next one or two seasons to actually build up another Grande United. I hope that Ten Hag won't be another Solskjaer in United and I have reason for my hope, he is a more experienced coach than Solskjaer and he has a successful coach career so far.
I would guess that there were "some" relations to them losing and Ronaldo being there, doesn't mean that it was having to do with his talent or anything, just the trouble and the drama they had is basically the point of it. They had a lot of drama inside the team and that caused a bit of a trouble for players, even the Maguire thing could have been the reason for it as well.
Now they are a bit leaner with less players, they can give up all that drama and look at the future and how they are going to be. I am guessing that they are doing as well as hoped for and that is going to be the case for a while longer if the team stays the way it is without disturbing the roster.
