I think a red card (and subsequent absence from the next game) is enough for punishment. I dont think that disrespecting an opponent is some kind of special crime for which special sanctions are needed. I understand that the line between a show and defamation (which is a criminal offense in most countries) is quite thin, but I would prefer it all to remain in the context of trash talking rather than litigation.
