But looking at the current squad of Barcelona, you will understand that almost all the players are available.
Barcelona players are not available. Most of their best players are out injured. They are without Lewandoski, Dembele, Pedri, Christensen and Gavi for the match against Valencia tomorrow due to a suspension. They are just seven points ahead of Madrid at the moment and a loss to Valencia will reduce that to four points if Madrid wins against Betis. Now here is the tricky part, Barca will play Bilboa next and we all know how much of a pain in the ass Bilboa can be to Barcelona. After Bilboa they will play Real Madrid. So if Barcelona don't handle the next three matches they have very well they could find themselves just one point ahead of Madrid or worst, below Madrid. They can only hope for Madrid to keep been inconsistent in the league.
If we refer to the predicted line-up that Xavi will apply in the match against Valencia. it looks like Christensen can be played in the match later, but his status is still doubtful. referring to the predictions I read, Xavi will apply a 4-4-2 formation, pairing Ferran Torres and Ansu Fati up front. for midfield there are some changes, Pablo Torre and Sergi Roberto will also be played, De Jong and Busquet remain Xavi's mainstay. in defense, Xavi has many options. IMO with the absence of several of Barcelona's core players, this match is an opportunity for Ferran and Ansu Fati to show what they are capable of. but anyway, this is just a prediction.
On the other hand, Valencia is in a situation that is not okay. as we know, Valencia is in the relegation zone by being ranked 18th in the standings. plus, several Valencia players were also injured. so, this match will not be easy for Valencia even though Barcelona will not be strengthened by some of their core players. I remain optimistic, Barcelona will topple Valencia in the match later and continue to keep their distance from their rival Real Madrid.
