Money for for things that are important in life: you family, your people, health, well being, ... Do not be afraid to spend the money on your people when they really need it, but be wary of spending it on stupid things and if you think your car and your clothes are important, you may want to start thinking if you have any significant goal in life and where does it get you in the next 10 years.
There's a difference between squandering money and trying to live a comfortable life. The fact that I have family doesn't mean I shouldn't enjoy myself with my money. Getting a nice car, clothes doesn't mean I'm spending money on things that are not important. Yea I know I'll take care of family but I also got to take care of myself too, I've got to look after myself too. Planning for the next 10 years is good but also don't forget to live life in the moment for tomorrow is not promised.
