If I'll be asked about this, I don't think I can do this immediately because there is no street sign on the place where I live but I need to travel in the town first lol. Usually, KYC is asked if the withdrawal amount is huge. I think that is for them to know that it wasn't a laundered money and also to know that the original owner still controls the account. There are still gambling sites who can ask a KYC at the start or even if the withdrawn money is only small.
Can't say that it's for huge amount on each casino as some has strict policies for base levels also but if you are fine with uploading selfie with a street sign you are comfortable to withdraw huge amounts also without any worries but for me small gambling with minimal KYC is fine.
I personally prefer KYC at the beginning rather than having to KYC after wanting to withdraw big wins, it will be more complicated.

but i do KYC early usually at a reputable casino here and Rollbit one of the good reputable casino. so you don't hesitate to do KYC at the beginning and are more comfortable when you are going to withdraw large funds without asking for KYC again.
Yes, its true but we know in todays standard where KYC could really be asked out on the time that you do withdraw huge amount but there are ones who  doesnt really asked out such question and would withdraw right away. This is why its always been suggested that you should searched up for some possible issues on a casino where you do tend to deposit. KYC at registration is something that would make users stay away because
having kyc is never been that appealing for most people. This is why they would really be applying it later on which do really sucks.
