Bitcoin mining, which is necessary to validate transactions on the blockchain, requires significant amounts of energy. Critics argue that the energy consumption associated with Bitcoin is unsustainable and contributes to climate change.

what do you think?

It's fair to say bitcoin mining requires a lot of energy. But compared to other industries, bitcoin's energy consumption is negligible. Like other industries, bitcoin also creates jobs and profits for the participants, so bitcoin's energy consumption is reasonable. If it does not produce any benefit, we can say it is a waste, but bitcoin brings many benefits and value to us. So we can't say it's a waste.
