I don't like that German Police just steal ... without having proof we did something illegal, hiding our original bitcoin wallet.
If they could just steal all our not spent money, will they go to big exchanges and take our money from there, claming we need to proove the funds were bought in good faith , or other non sense?
Absolutely. I guess the difference to an exchange (not all of them are 'created equal', but if they are registered banks) is that customer's funds in a bank account are 'guaranteed' to a certain limit of a few thousand $ / .
Anything below that limit cannot be seized if the bank goes bankrupt, for instance; they have to
somehow give you access to those funds sooner or later (it doesn't work that well in reality, but that's the theory).
In the case of ChipMixer, while not being a lawyer, it is likely that anything under control of ChipMixer (i.e. unspent funds) can be seized, because it legally still belongs to ChipMixer.
Just a thought: even if they kept logs, it could include fake data. Misinformation to make it look one way but still hide something else.
Plausible deniability, in a way. I like it.

Just like it is possible ChipMixer was operated by more than 1 person. But law enforcement like it if they find a stash of data & keys, a face and can just be done with it.
Evidence of absence and all that...
Seems it was just some hot wallets by chipmixer and not the private keys of user interactions because then it would have been a lot more txs.
Several Bitcointalk users have already confirmed their funds were swept. I'm surprised there isn't much more turmoil about it though. I'd like to know if there are still funded chips out there.
That is correct. I remember someone who recommended to always keep a rather large stack of BTC as CM vouchers (to be fair: not the recommended usage of ChipMixer) from which you can get the amount you need, whenever you have to do a payment. I'll look up later who that was; I'd be interested if he was affected, too, for instance.
