Ok proof of stake is based on a few factors, how long coins are in wallet without moving, the number of coins you have, and if your wallet address is selected for staking. The more coins you have the greater the chance of getting picked for stake, as long as coin age matches up etc. Google proof of stake, it can be confusing but yes it's like a lottery, the more tickets you have the higher chance of staking

my "issue" comes down to block times than. with 10 minute blocktimes, staking is very different in contrast to every other pos coin out there, in feel at least. i know if i opened my mint, zeit or other pos wallets and had coins 10+ days past min weight, they would start staking probably before i get done syncing.
it promotes the network i suppose, but if one cant stake at least say... 50% of what ive held past min age within a week or so...i think that may not be ideal
