Even though PSG dominated possession, they were surprised by Rennes at the end of the first half. PSG didn't feel confident until the second half had to concede again for the second goal, this defeat actually embarrassed PSG at home because the visiting team was unexpectedly able to excel in this match. 
Of course such a defeat is shocking especially because PSG are playing at home. Rennes managed to take advantage of their opportunities well where 2 of the 3 good opportunities were goals. Meanwhile, PSG, which actually managed to take 7 shots on target, failed to score a single goal. Steve Mandanda was really good in the match, he made 7 saves out of 7 PSG chances during the match.I think Rennes is not too weak for PSG because they are a top Ligue 1 team that should be considered. This season Rennes are struggling to qualify for the Europa League if Monaco fail to maintain their position in the standings. Monaco's advantage is only about 3 points from Rennes, this is still very likely to be expected.
although the result did not affect PSG's standings, losing 0-2 was enough of a blow for them. no wonder they should be eliminated from the last 16 of the Champions League. a team like Munich is still too strong for PSG. with so many good players in the team, PSG is still lacking in their squad.
I think beating PSG 2-0 is a big achievement for a team like Rennes. PSG has two of the best players in the world Messi and Mbappe in the attack. Rennes' defenders were able to successfully block these two players. Rennes' defense was very solid in this match. And their match strategy was also excellent. However, this match made it clear that PSG has a lot of weaknesses within their squad. And coach Galtier completely failed to stabilize the team.
