With a gap of 12 points I think the title race is over even though there are games left. Barcelona's victory in El Clasico yesterday became a sign that Madrid had given up. If you look at El Real's performance, it is quite difficult to catch the Blaugrana. Apart from playing the remaining matches until the end of the season in La Liga, Real Madrid must also shift its focus to two other tournaments. I think Madrid should focus better on the Champions League and the Copa Del Rey. However, Benzema must exert his strength to be able to win one of the titles in the remaining competitions.
Right now I no longer hope that Real Madrid will get miracle to win the La Liga title after Barcelona leads the standings with 12 points. Barcelona have been the most favorite team for the title this season, so I will no longer doubt them for the rest of the season unless Barcelona lose 3 in a row once La Liga starts in April.

"No team has ever failed to go on to win the league after leading by such a margin at this stage of the season", at least that is Barcelona's optimism so far.

The road to the league title

There are 12 games to go in La Liga 2022/23, and that is also how many points Barça lead Real Madrid by. That is not enough to start celebrating anything quite yet, but the fact is that no team has ever thrown away such a lead in the history of the competition. And Barça have no intention of being the first.

In fact, 12 points was also the difference between the clubs in 2015/16 with just nine games to go. But four games later, Madrid had closed the gap to just one! Barça eventually took the title on the final day thanks to Luis Suárez's hat-trick against Granada. So you can never be too careful...

With six games left at Spotify Camp Nou and six games on the road, plus what remains of the Copa del Rey, there is a lot to look forward to this next two months.
