Despite the economic challenges facing Zimbabwe the International Cricket Council (ICC) distributes funds to its member countries based on various factors including performance development initiatives and governance. While the Dutch economy may be more stable and potentially more government funding for the sport, economic stability is not the only determining factor in the growth and development of cricket. Cricket is a complex game and team performance can fluctuate due to various reasons. It is important to acknowledge Zimbabwe's rich history in cricket and the many talented players they have produced. Ultimately the future of cricket in any country depends on various factors including economic stability governance talent development and on field performance. It is important to support all cricket playing countries and work for the growth and development of the game globally.
ICC funding alone can't be enough to promote cricket in the country, government support is must and if there is no supprt from government side then you have problem promoting cricket in the country. Zimbabwe was one of great test teams when players like Grant flower and Andy flower were part of team in late 90s but since then it's complete fall. Recently Zimbabwe participated in T20 World Cup and it gave hope that Zimbabwe may bounce back but its proving to be false once again after seeing there performance in bilateral series.
