so the national debt is somewhere around 32 trillion dollars. nobody really knows what that means or if it means anything at all. you could add a couple zeros to that and it probably has no affect. it's just an abstract number unless it's causing real world consequences. it's not something we need to pay back it's just a number. apparently.
