OP forgot to know that gambling is just a game. Sometimes it works out well for the players and sometimes it is not as it used to be for the players. Talking about luck I was thinking if you say so how about those that win most likely every bet or gamble  they play, will you say they are born with some special luck in them that they use for games? Well what I will just say about that is that some people play with experience which they have had from years of playing so they implore all the techniques, expertise and everything they know how to do while playing games so they could win a game no wonder casinos suspends and most times ban some gamblers from their platform because of the multiple tactics they implore while playing games and casinos tag it cheating.

So OP I will sum it all up to experience. People play gamble with experience so I don not know how experienced you are in gaming. And lastly, you should know that the higher your game, the more likely you are to win big games. So it is not all about just gambling but the volume at which you use in gambling.
