I have a complete opposite vision. A fighter would better smile, talk, jump and act like an asshole, then be silent but skilled fighter. And the more bad guy you are, the better it is. UFC does not like fighters who are active online inside octagon. Demetrious Johnson is a great example. The guy is so much positive, that UFC exchanged him for other fighter (Mighty Mouse has 11 title defence, lost to triple C and got exchanged for Ben Askren lol). No wonder why people dont love Dariush, Muhammad or Whittaker. Because they are too good as persons
People dont like Pereira, because he dont speak English, shows no emotions, and got title fight after beating 3 average guys (2 of them were not even in top15), while others wait ages for a title fight. I really like Demetrious Johnson and it is not fair for the UFC to ignore him just because he doesn't reach a lot of audience going with his fight, just because he doesn't really like a lot of drama it is not really fair for him, I really like how he takes care of his family providing food on the table because that is what I am doing right now, and I love my family and seeing his life I think we are both the same in terms in taking care of our family that is why I can relate to him, well let's just say there are many people that are enjoying the drama and trash talking a lot more, they really love Israel Adesanya just because he can talk fluent English and now I know why Khabib Nurmagomedov always says to Makhachev to learn your English language, but I think Alex Pereira is getting there look at this video on youtube
Well there is the unfair treatment for many fighters in the UFC, if you can not provide the hype then Dana White will surely be unfair and will not like a fighter like that,
Language barrier I think is one of the reasons why some good fighters does not have title fights for long period. Like you have mentioned Makhachev. He is like a robot that steps inside octagon, wins opponent and goes home. And on post and pre fight interviews we get "I wanna thank my team, my coach, Khabib" and that is it. Boring. That does not really trigger to buy ticket for his next fight.
