I didn't expect Real Madrid to beat Barcelona either, especially with such a big score without conceding a single goal. I thought that Real Madrid would not try this game because they have a Champions League game coming up. But I was wrong and Real Madrid, particularly Benzema, were able to pull off this incredible win in the Spanish Cup semi-final. It will be interesting to watch their final match against Osasuna in a month's time.
If you look at their last few meetings, no one thought they could win with a big score at home to Barcelona. But all of that was possible because the combination of Benzema and Vini was extraordinary. They can understand each other's movements. And also Modric whose skills are timeless. The attacking action on the 2nd goal was amazing. Modric made a crucial and spectacular run, while Rodrygo raced across the box and a Barcelona player followed suit, but then saw Benzema and was unable to react quickly and fell to the ground. Benzema with the ball didn't hesitate and shot the ball beside the goal post and into the net, where Ter stegen couldn't reach it.
What an impressive game from Real Madrid. Vinicius is on a mission for this El Clasico, he seems to have reason to prove it. Benzema was flowing class as usual. But Camavinga is supeeeme!! So good as an LB, my only disappointment with camavinga playing in that position is he doesn't play in midfield where he is amazing too! Madrid have a gem on their hands!
